On this Coronation day here's a little thing about the new King Charles and myself.
I designed and made 'Chair in Flight' and 'Hidden Feeling', a chair and table set, while at college.
The then Prince Charles was visiting and my pieces of furniture were requested and selected to be presented to him to use for the photo shoot and signing his portrait.

I wrote a brief about myself and my furniture pieces and made sure it was all well presented for him.

On the day all my identifying documents were removed and I was told not to attend as the college said I was a 'security risk', and offered no explanation.

Afterwards I was told that if I ever sold these pieces off the back of the Royal connection the college wanted 60% commission.

I would burn them before they get a penny!

@DrKathyChandler @ChrisMayLA6 I would also add go to your Union, or join a union if you haven't already (or encourage your workplace to recognise a union -easier in some countries than others I know). Unions were set up to protect workers. Even if you don't belong to a union they are still able to give advice. When you have a union on your side you are not alone.

Mastadon has been really great so far. I've fallen into such a deep depression after I lost my career as a building admin at Merk a global science firm.
