Finished my 12 hour nightshift, cannot go to sleep yet. Have an appointment in an hour. Must stay awake at least two more hours. No sleep yet. Soon, tho but.

Getting ready to go to work. The weirdest thing about doing nightshifts is how porridge somehow became an evening food for me, and chicken wings became a morning food, but they still remained a breakfast and supper food, respectively.
Too tired from last night's shift, tonight's shift is only 11 hours 23 minutes away. #Tired #WorkplaceWoes
I mean, it isn't like I got a full night's (day's?) sleep during the week either, so four hours last night, probably the same-ish, low quality, sleep the days before that. Too much awake time. My brain-mouth connection is already far too loose too. If someone asks me how I feel, I'm liable to tell them the truth and that is never good. And my finger really hurts. #SleepDeprivation #WorkplaceWoes #GoodMorning

Another nightshift over. Technically this is my day off, but since I have to go in tomorrow at 7.30am it isn't going to bloody well feel like it.
This week cannot end soon enough for me. #WorkplaceWoes #GoodMorning #GoodNight

Ugh soon to depart... my will to live. But also me for another nightshift. I do ordinarily like nightshifts, but they've really screwed me over with the rota this week. I only have two, non consecutive, days off; and a daytime training course for stuff I already know and that could be an email anyway.
I mean, I'm sure chronic sleep deprivation won't have any implications for patient care or anything.
It isn't that I hate the work I do at the care home, I find it really rewarding actually, but I do hate the job. The tedious office politics, the shift pattern that is made to make it easier to draw up rotas not for what helps the clients or the carers, all that sort of stuff...
I never had to deal with that volunteering at the foodbank. How come the voluntary sector can handle that stuff, but the private sector cannot?
