I've tinkered with the last chapter of the WIP tonight. Added a line here and there, tweaked a sentence. It's the most writing I've done in several weeks, and it was very satisfying.
That counts as #writing, right? I'm frustrated by how slow my progress is on this WIP but I don't think it's the story's fault. It's me. Hi, I'm the problem, it's me.

Three weeks ago I was told to start a new project, take one of my LARGE existing monthly reports and streamline it so it could be run weekly. I’m the only one who knows how to do this report. I asked what were we keeping, what changes needed to made, and I proposed several fancy additions that both made it better and easier to run.
I kept asking, where is the road map to the project, I need to get started. Radio silence. Today: We have an August deadline, Tuesday is August, where are we at with this very large project?
I get an angry toned email back saying we need more info — they could have asked all this weeks ago! Meanwhile I moved forward. Now they’re going to throw the brakes on everything and I’m going to have start from scratch with only two days before the deadline! Next week, when I am slow in delivering, they will be asking why they don’t have a product and they’ll conveniently forget how I was trying to work this early. 😡 #WorkStress
Repost from previous instance…
This might seem weird but I keep a daily log of how many emails are in my inbox and how many items are in my ToDo app. Collectively they form my 'Barometer of stress'.
This doesn't help me directly reduce the number of emails or ToDo items, but it gives me a chance to step back and realise 'yep this is an abnormally busy time' and that helps me.
The big email spike in 2022 was from taking a two-week holiday.

I received this many emails between 5:30 on Friday and 7:20 this morning. 75 are from my boss.
I’m literally a shill for an accounting firm; I am not working on the cure for cancer. What in the name of hell is wrong with these people.

Five more work days until my headaches go away for a few weeks. #timeoff #workstress

Has anyone found in their workplace that there are people whose work is celebrated all the time at a very public level, and others whose achievements are ignored and forgotten? #workplacewellbeing #workstress #work #bullying #exclusion #mentalheath

Processing some #workstress tonight: we’re just about back to full staffing when my work partner of 5+ years announced she’s leaving. Another colleague told me she’s getting her resume ready.
I can only control what I can control. But it would have been nice to be back to full staffing again.
All these people leaving makes me question staying. Makes me wonder what else I could be doing and if it would get me a better schedule or work/life balance than I have now & now, I’ve got it pretty good
