@strangetomato From what I understand of successful #WorkToRule efforts is that they can often be much more difficult to pull off than strikes in that they require a great deal of collective self-discipline by participants.

Just about everyone cuts corners in their jobs on an every day basis just to "get shit done" and so breaking from that pattern is incredibly difficult.

But if you have a high level of worker solidarity and collective self-discipline, it can be a good tactic.

Rather than a #GeneralStrike, what if we just had a General #WorkToRule?

Attacking outright strike action makes #WorkToRule (also sometimes known as a "go slow" - where you work exactly to contracted obligations & studiously follow all safety rules) a lot more attractive as an option.

This coming year I’m going to do do my part to destroy #capitalism by abstaining from the #ConsumerEconomy as much as possible. I will #WorkToRule I will #barter where I can. I will continue to #grow my own food. I will hoard the products of my labor. #NewYearsResolution

#QuietQuitting is just #stochastic #WorkToRule.
