Had to think hard about this one so I decided to play two 1960 psychological #horrormovies releases against each other. It’s Psycho vs Peeping Tom!

I’m genuinely excited about this one.

It’s a shame #USA and #England are in the same group as it would have made an excellent final so todays #horror match will be very interesting.

I’ve disqualified #Qatar for the deaths of 6500 migrant workers #worldcup their oppression of LBTGQ+ people and women. FIFA are enabling this. Horror is supposed to be fictional.

Last #worldcupofhorror match up for today is #Brazil vs #Serbia.

Brazilian horror is a bit of a blind spot for me and is something I want to explore in more detail. This Night I Will Possess Your Corpse (1967) really caught my eye although I’m struggling to find it.

As for Serbian horror, there’s a similar rich heritage but going with A Holy Place for this one.

The selection process for #Uruguay vs #Korea is a lot more straightforward than other countries in the #worldcupofhorror
For Uruguay it’s the creepy The Silent House (La Casa Muda).
While to say I’m spoiled for choice for Korea is a considerable understatement, but the monster flick The Host is a particular favourite of mine.

And it’s was nearly impossible to find any #horror films from Cameroon to enter but going with the short Die with me which is available on YouTube.
For Switzerland I’m going with The Killer Condom. Yes, there’s a film called Killer Condom.

It’ll be interesting to see how this one ends.

#Spain vs #Costarica looks like an unfair match really, simply because there aren’t many #horrormovies that can hold a candle up to Rec. It’s a phenomenal film and utterly terrifying.
Still, as we’ve already seen in the #worldcupofhorror anything can happen!

Who are you giving the points to?

It’s Spain vs Costa Rica next and I have to say I’m quite enjoying the process of researching horror movies from some of the smaller countries in the competition.

This one from Costa Rica titled La Segua (1984) is based on a folk tale of a woman who appears with the face of a horse.

I’m struggling to track it down but I’m intrigued.

I can’t imagine it doing too well against Rec though, one of the best Spanish #horrormovies of all time.
