I made lots of terrific linguistic blunders while living in Hungary. Entertaining: Trying to say, “I am hungry (éhes),” but accidentally saying “I am sweet (édes).” Less so: Telling the cab driver to stop at the corner (sárok), but saying “szarok” instead. Roughly, “Please stop at the poops.”
