Thinking about how #WorldWarII was the first major conflict where dropping #bombs from planes on cities was a primary method of attack, realizing that that's why the scale of destruction was so much greater than #WorldWarI. Yesterday, in the National Arboretum in Washington, I saw this #bonsai tree. The Japanese White Pine (Pinus parviflora 'Miyajima') survived the #atombomb at #Hiroshima.
