Here's an early two-part animation about the need for U.S. soldiers of the Great War to be patient and wait until the army, facing an unprecedented logistical challenge in demobilization, got to them. The cartoon's humor relies on negative sterotypes of a certain kind of woman who would lead gullible good men astray. #GreatWar #WorldWarOne #PostWar #Gender

As the countdown to the release of The Life of a Medical Officer in WW1 commences, I thought I would share some daily snippets for your enjoyment. 1) During the First World War the British government became extremely concerned about the consumption of alcohol, fearing war production was being hampered by drunkenness. As such, they introduced several measures including the promotion of controlled drinking. :)

#VintagePostcard (been a while hey?)
A WWI card sent from my Aunt's Grandfather (on her Dad's side) to her grandmother. He came home from the war.
"Somewhere In France. 31/3/17
My Darling Kid,
Just a line from the old spot. Nothing to tell you except the usual, sent letter this week.
Fondest love and kisses from your loving Hubbie"

When was World War One called World War One and stop being called the Great War or the War to End All Wars? Sadly given how often wars have happened since 1918, that last name must have broken the hearts of so many veterans and their families.
