Sous forme d'interviews documentées, #WorldWarZ décrit minutieusement la politique, la sociologie, les traumatismes engendrés par la première guerre mondiale contre les morts-vivants.

Captivant. Et un poil flippant.

I don't share the popular acclaim Of The Last of Us. Yet another "Everybody for themselves" attempt at normalisation of dystopia.

People must really love one about morally and legally killing lots of others who must not be argued it.

I got a bit bored watching #StationEleven, but at least in that limited series there was no grand attempt at the heroics of saving humanity with child trope.

#TheLastOfUs equals #WorldWarZ minus Brad Pitt, plus Bella Ramsey.

Except longer, much, much longer.

Gearing up for a three hour drive. Following a recommendation to listen to the #audiobook of #WorldWarZ. Also currently consuming much coffee so I guess I’ll be stopping pretty early into the drive. Wherever y’all go today… be safe.

#WorldWarZ is a one of the strangest films.

First, it's nothing like the book, but the book would have been impossible to do as a film. So structurally different any film was doomed to not be like the book.

It could have been a TV show but very expensive as it'd would have been multiple smaller shows.

Second, It's still an interesting film, which I enjoy, up until the plane crashes and it turns into a BBC drama and then I usually turn it off.

Been binging #LastOfUs and came to a sad realization. All of these books and movies about a contagion wiping out civilization like #LastOfUs #WorldWarZ #Outbreak #StationEleven have a virus or mold that is so infectious that virtually the entire planet is destroyed in a matter of weeks or days.

It’s like the authors or screenwriters could only contemplate a scenario where things were happening so quickly that we could not adapt and thus our downfall.

But the reality we are living in with Covid is not like these dystopian stories. We had time to adapt (masking and proper ventilation work!). We developed vaccines. Yet people continue to get infected and die.

So even if the contagion in these dystopian tales was slow acting, the end result would still be the same because human beings cannot be assumed to be rational actors. That’s what the authors and screenwriters got wrong.

I never looked at things this way pre-Covid.

If you can, watch episode 3, it's a stand alone back story of Bill & Frank, one of the most emotional and touching hours of TV you'll ever see, IMO

Dystopian futures resonate with me;
- You're always on guard
-The natives are not friendly
- Supply runs carry all kinds of risk (supermarkets are never fun)

This is the only book I ever read because the movie was so awful that I was in complete disbelief that any book that was this bad could be turned into a movie. Then I read the book and it was absolutely awesome. How did they fail so bad with the movie? This should have been a TV Show.
