What the fuck is even happening, did we just pass through a bubble of warped spacetime or something
this turned out vastly better than expected? SRD 5.1 is released under CC-BY-4.0, which is not only a license that WOTC doesn't control, but it's an irrevocable license. like they didn't just say they would eventually release it, they did. Today.
Huh?

I'm not into VTTs but I still think this is important to the future of the ogl and the ttrpg hobby

He's not going to be happy when I tell him #WotCOGL will be knocking on the door looking for their wedge. 😂
With everything that's been going on with #WotCOGL and #dnd5e, I have been getting quite concerned with #ttrpgs in general.
I know that there are a lot of creators and publishers that encourage or push for "trying other games" and yes, that is an option.
But part of the success of the hobby in general is that people can easily find other new people to play a shared game with. By having a single game that dominates the market, you make it simple to fine people to enjoy it with. I will miss this.
To all 5E fans currently boycotting WotC: Please don’t extend your boycott to the 3rd party creators. They need all your support right now. And whatever happens, you’ll be able to use what you purchased without giving WotC another cent.
You actually *should* buy 3rd party content right now, because in the worst case, those products won’t be available anymore soon!
As part of the planning / submission review phase of @polyhedral I compiled a list of all the SRDs / Third Party Licenses I could find.
With recent #OGL #TTRPG chatter I've reviewed it further and expanded it today to highlight those which use the #WotCOGL as part of their licensing.
