As bad as #GamesWorkshop is, I don't know of them ever sending armed goons to anybody's house or hiring a corporate intelligence contractor that trades in their reputation as assassins of union organizers from the early 20th and late 19th century like #WOTCstaff just did. #pinkertons

You could say that the Pinkertons don't murder people very often anymore but the fact that they used to is still relevant because it informs their reputation. Buyers of their services are hiring the infamous Pinkertons to instill fear in their targets. We've essentially given corporations blank checks to use state violence and private security contractors to use violence against individuals who have inconvenienced them.

We did a rad AF April Fools for Arena today, replacing the standard battlefield with a love letter to the kind of tables most of us have gamed on over the years, and the cardbacks with a worn, distressed look.

Our art team went hard on this, and there's so much heart and love in it it makes my eyes a little misty to see it so well received by the community.

Ian Adams, my PO, wrote a great article about the card, how we originally planned to cut it, and how we ended up getting her in anyway.

Let me add for those of you who speak Producer: being an Agile team meant we could grab velocity, put our heads together, and mull over whether we had the spare cycles on our various teams (art, QA, engineering) to do this. It's been a tool I've jammed into the cracks of conversations and leveraged toward work-life balance. AS IT SHOULD BE.
