This one gets me.. he left a review and then emailed me.
“Jason , just left a review for “WPwatercooler - Weekly WordPress Talk Show.
Just left you a 5-star review because “Twenty Years of WordPress” was incredible.
I really enjoyed listening to EP453 – #WP20: Twenty Years of WordPress. You have done an amazing job of discussing the history and future of WordPress in an interesting and informative way. "
For my next trick, imma turn the `epub` for the #WP20 book into an audiobook.
Tomorrow tho. #WordPress

Three days before the WordPress 20th anniversary, I got an email from Matt Mullenweg. I was amazed. In the letter, on behalf of the WordPress project team, he expressed the team's appreciation for the contributors' work. And as a token of appreciation, WordPress treated its contributors to WP 20th anniversary swag.
I chose a little green notebook with a “W” emblem on it.
Once again, happy birthday WordPress. Thank you very much!

There’s a saying in Taiwan: it takes a village to raise a child.
It takes you to raise the WordPress community!
Happy birthday, WordPress 🎂
Thank you for all the heroes that made this happen. #wp20

HAPPY 20th, WORDPRESS!
It is true, blogs and other social network platforms are spaces and our profiles there are tools we can use for the better or the worse.

I am so, so grateful for the decades of advancements in #T1D care that we benefit from today. I'm also so, so frustrated these advancements are bred from closed and propriety systems.
It makes me extremely thankful I was able to build a business that is embedded in the enormous and supportive project and community of #WordPress. This one (big) thing has enabled me to put a lot of my time and energy towards family life these past 10 months.
Thanks, and happy 20th Birthday, WordPress! #WP20

I missed it by a day, but Happy 20th Anniversary to the WordPress open source project.
The project and the community around it have had a huge impact on my career, and through it I have made many (hopefully lifelong friends). For that I will forever be grateful.

And yes, only so much one can squeeze into a post. But these were mostly oldschool headline features that helped define WordPress (IMO). For some, you had to be there.
It's hard to believe that WordPress is 20 years old today (May 27th). It's changed so much over the last 20 years (for the good and bad).
Congrats to everyone involved, from those who started it, to the volunteers who continue to work on it, to those who use it on a website, and even to those who criticize it.
If you have a favourite memory of WordPress (could be good or bad), I would love to hear it.
