My first "full" day at WordCamp Europe 2023 was busy and intense, but I loved networking and learning about WordPress history and security and what's worth knowing about design and typography.

Today was Contributor Day at my very first WordCamp. I hacked code for WP-CLI and met some awesome people.

Today is Contributor Day at WordCamp Europe, and I made my first contributions to WP-CLI. Here's the full joy: https://danq.me/wceu23-1
A new release of WP-CLI is available as of today: WP-CLI v2.8.1.
This is a hotfix release to fix 2 critical bugs with release v2.8.0.

#WPCLI help: I'm trying to run a command similar to the 2nd command shown in these examples, but it keeps erroring out, telling me "Unknown parameter" for each of the parameters in my `list` part of the command. I'm using LocalWP on Windows 11, so it's being executed in Windows CMD shell rather than a BASH-style shell. Is there an alternative way to write these types of combined commands in Windows?
The v2.8.0 release of WP-CLI is scheduled to be published on Wednesday, May 3rd 2023.
I've been using WP-CLI for years on my local development environment (Laragon), among others. Great tool

At CloudFest Hackathon, @zzap and team created this awesome code example search engine by combining the #WordPress code reference, #WPCLI and #PHP docs.
Check it out!
I used to use MAMP for local #wordpress development. Then I got a Macbook Pro M1 when they first came out and couldn't get #WPCLI to work with MAMP, so I switched to LocalWP... except it's super slow and sites on it constantly crash.
So, I just installed LaravelValet. So far so good. Hasn't crashed once, and it's quite fast so far.
Managed to run wp post generate in linux on a raspberry pi plugged into an ipad 🎇😭🎆 A very fun Saturday! (I am not well.) #WordPress #WPCLI
Nothing like the feeling of un-hacking a site! Luckily the db was clean and it was just some files and themes that were created. This is why I loooove #WPCLI and the command line! SSH'd in, found files in date range, deleted, changed all credentials. #WordPress #hacked
If you use #WordPress and are familiar with the command line, give #WPCLI a try. One of my favorite commands to use is "wp shell" (https://developer.wordpress.org/cli/commands/shell/). This will drop you into an interactive #PHP console where you can interact with WordPress' functions, classes and globals.
I know that WP-CLI is not the average user's way of working with #WordPress, but still disappointed that my plugin was rejected from the plugin repo because it doesn't have a UI in the site.
It would be nice to have a dedicated category of plugins that strictly improve the power of the command line experience.
In the meantime, if you need a tool to strip UTM tracking codes from all the links in your posts, here's the WP-CLI plugin for you!
WordPress: SSH and WP CLI
I have seen the terms SSH and WP CLI for many years but never dipped my toe in that water. I am totally familiar with the concept of a command line as I have read the MS-DOS Reference Manual long ago. I have an issue with my website where there is no endpoint. Whatever an endpoint is. So I went down the path of figuring out what an endpoint is and how to fix my issue.

If you run a #WordPress site and have access to the server, then I think learning WP-CLI can very much be worth your time. I initially used it because I forgot my WP login, and was able to make a new one via command line. WP-CLI is very useful. #WPCLI #WP
