The paper's name: LQR Control of an Intercept and Return Drone Airspace Protection System

It uses LQR control of a drone, using solely the control algorithm to target, track, and capture an airspace invasive drone following an unknown path

LQR drone control was not a great idea - as soon as instability moved the drone from a stable pole the control system would crash 😞

Some prior work for my #robotics Masters @ #wpi

This is an A* planner in PyGame, but there's no grid. Instead every dot you see is representative of a kinodynamic state of the car + trailer. At each pose it applies an acceleration to branch out, all while considering the attached trailer and obstacle collision.

The second is the same idea applied to a *tiny* grocery delivery robot, with an additional global planner for streetwise navigation.

These are videos of the network in action, sans additional processing that could be done to smooth out categorical identification.

Here I track road, road lines, sidewalks, pedestrians, traffic signs, and vehicles.

The biggest challenge? Getting the network to learn with stark imbalance in category representation. The solution- using focal loss + loss weights

I should #introduce myself.

I'm Gillian (she/they) and I direct the Interactive Media & Game Development program at #WPI. I teach novel interfaces, procgen, project-based intro programming (#p5js and #processing), ethics of creative AI.

My research is in computational craft, critical cs ed, #procgen, and, lately, collaborative #livecoding.

I have two kids, one of whom I raised from newborn to preschooler in a pandemic. I almost feel like I'm emerging from that haze.
