@paco last night I watched the TOS episode with Khan and then #WrathOfKhan.
I groaned at many of the same things you mentioned (try aux power made. Me. So. Mad.)

Another inconceivable blooper is that Chekov was NOT on the Enterprise, in the Khan TOS Episode. But somehow they remember each other?
I suppose in the 80s you could write a sequel without watching the original episode even once (or more likely, willingly ignore basic continuity)

Now that all the #StarTrek movies are on #ParamountPlus, I watched #TheMotionPicture Director's Edition this morning and the ship, space travel, V'Ger scenes were gorgeous but I noticed a few weird blurring of the background with some characters. (Anyone else notice this?) Overall, I enjoyed this version of the film but I can see why people complained that some scenes needlessly dragged on and on. Next: #WrathOfKhan!

I think it was a good idea for #Picard S3 to pick up off some of the reprecussions of the #Voyager and #DeepSpaceNine series finales:
- Voyager destroyed the #Borg transwarp hub, and disrupted Unamatrix 1
- The Dominion War directly targetted the Changling species until their surrender

Coulda been a better story, but still good idea.👍

Hrmm... there's that #WrathOfKhan thematic connection again, where the distant past suddenly shows up, pissed off.😆

Each film has something I love in it but really, there can be only one choice here: The Wrath of Khan. Themes of growing old, family, vengeance, sacrifice, loss. Incredible battle scenes. Superb soundtrack. Literal earworms. Scotty randomly carrying bodies from engineering to the bridge. What more could you want?

Thoroughly enjoyed the Original Series film franchise. 'II: Wrath of Khan' is just an off-the-hook good sci-fi film, and #RicardoMontalbán's Khan Noonien Singh is the quintessential Star Trek Villian. An absolute favourite, not only of the original 6 films but of the franchise.

I appreciated the unfortunate 'V: The Final Frontier' more than I initially did. In the later three films the self-referential jokes and self-parody is so much more endearing straight from finishing the TV series. There are a heap of jokes and little hints at things that only those with a real love of TOS will get or appreciate. Spock is still MVP. Leonard Nimoy is MVP.
