I'm just getting through #wrestlemania39 and I'm finally at the Intercontinential Title match between Gunther, Sheamus, and McIntyre.

When it comes to the modern WWE I know exactly nothing, so I'm fully marking-out watching.

That's good company Roman Reigns is in. Bob Backlund is my forever chamption.

Their entries were so good. Cody, smiling, taking it all in; Roman demanding "acknowledge me." This is good stuff. I'm so impressed with how into it the crowd is, how these wrestlers can keep that interest doing almost nothing. It's good storytelling and good acting.

Did Cody have epaulets and eagle wings on? He looked fine, I'm not complaining, it was just extremely superhero. Roman looksing amazing. I had no idea, I know you all know that once I saw him I'd love him. HE has the poor taste to be with Heyman, but that's my only complaint.

I had honestly forgotten the kind of money WWE pours into these things. The last PPVs I watched prior to AEW this year were from ECW and their budget was something like ten bucks, three cigs, and five hotdogs.

I assume this "finish the story" stuff has been a big part of this storyline.

That was nice. Big move, kickout at the last second. These two are putting on a good show. All the drama. I've missed this style of wrestling. (I still hate Vince more than I hate most people and things, for the record.)

Another close count. They are so smooth with this. It adds a lot.

I have not missed Paul Heyman at all.

I expected to be more impressed by Roman Reigns. He does get bonus points for matching not only his glove and boots but his underwear, too.

I like the guillotine. The move looks great, Roman looks unbeatable doing it, and Cody's selling it beautifully. "Cody digging down deep." Hey! That's my line! But he totally did and did it wonderfully.

The ref is out. If I weren't already spoiled I'd have guessed this was where it went badly for Cody anyway.

There's the cheating. So much cheating everywhere. This feels weird for a ppv with that big of an interruption. But I don't know WWE, as I said, so maybe it's the norm.

So, I've almost finished watching night 1 of Wrestlemania, and it has lived up to the common review that it was alright. Some stand out matches for sure. Logan Paul is consistently getting better, Seth Rollins is still king, Charlotte and Rhea put on an absolute performance. Just the main event to go I believe.
Then, it's night 2.
It's a lot to digest, might have it finished by the end of the week!
