A Boring Sponge (Cliona celata) - these colourful sponges bore holes in limestone causing pitting and small channels- in pic2 you can see the effects along with the larger holes made by shellfish called Wrinkled Rock-borers (Hiatella arctica).
County Clare, Ireland.
