@CA_Hawthorne I don’t think the group would have to be strictly romance-only, although perhaps stories with romantic themes throughout would help or something?

After three weeks of 24/7 care for a relative where I had no time to read, let alone write, I opened Midwinter Day by Bernadette Mayer on the flight home. I had tried it before, found some interesting images but not something I could really grasp. Coming off of three intense weeks, the poetry spoke. That’s what good poetry does. The first time my nascent writers group met, the house was one day past 5yo getting diagnosed with a double ear infection, and two days prior to cat getting diagnosed with pancreatitis. We met again yesterday, and the almost-2yo threw up in the afternoon.

Next meeting is in a fortnight, I feel a little apprehensive now.
