I recoil at the squeaking noises as the mussels hit the pan.

@stephenlev Agreed. Getting a whole story into those few words is a challenge, but really satisfying. #writershq (if you don't know them) do a weekly one with a prompt which is fun and they're super friendly.

@purplepadma I did a flash about it on #writershq. Trees, starting as saplings, achieving sentience in a collective mycorrhizal network. Long surviving their fall.
