I wonder if / when #litrpg ever goes mainstream. It’s at the point where people are discovering it, posting about it, and the comments are saying “omg I’m glad more people are talking about it.

#writersofmastadon tread carefully into that subgenre though. The production cycle has a pretty low bar to entry and it’s hyper concentrated to mostly #royalroad so it’s getting pretty saturated.

But I mean if #writing was easy everyone would do it.

I was just verified as a "book author" on
Medium. At least some websites still recognize people's worth without expecting a monthly payment for it.

Like, make sure you format using ePub or PDF; or no publisher will look at your work without an outline or synopsis.. kind of stuff.

I've been off of Mastadon because of a combination of a three day writing contest and work-life balance. On the plus side, I learned I can write and go through five drafts if I have a deadline looming over my head.

Can I suggest you give it a try? They have beer and food and air conditioning and bar staff who are often very nice. I went to the pub last night and managed to knock over 1000 words and thee pints in a couple of hours.

Lost a file I was working on, somewhere between the laptop, the external hard drive, and the main computer. Looked for it for over an hour. Gone, gone, gone. Will have to redo the editing.

A red gel pen tip broke, and red ink is all over everything, including my hands.

Spouse - There's blood all over everything.
Me - Yea, ruined my favorite sweater.

I'd love to say that my absence from Social Media was because I was writing. Um, yea.

Outline progressing, editing moving forward. And WIP is still a WIP, even if I didn't jot down a single word.

Looking at the planner, it would be useful if I actually used it. I need to put ducks in a row, so one one project is done, the next flows right in.

In 2015, I began the adventure of writing my first novel™. After it went through a half-dozen beta reads, a dozen self-edits, and one professional edit, I thought it was ready to query. 🤣

I sent it to 83 literary agencies, and either received no reply or a form rejection. Eventually, I gave up and shelved the novel.

Then, in 2020, I dusted it off and began to rewrite it. Three years later and that rewrite is finally complete! 🎉
