“I name you: wyrm,” Mother spoke, and her voice was so flatly calm that it scared Foxglove more than her change in appearance. The lizard seemed to flinch at the name, bringing flaming wings around to batter at the Queen even as she held it firm. She didn’t even blink. “I name you: Firebird. I name you: Phoenix.” One sharp pull dragged the creatures head towards Mother, and she took hold of it with both hands. “Extinguish.”
