I splurged a few times and ordered hand-made, bespoke pens. The last 3 times I also asked for an extra grip section, so they can each receive either a #8 or a #6 nib. It usually adds $25-40 to the price, and I highly recommend this.

NPD!

I got one of those fancy new Jinhao Dadao 9019 pens. It's a demonstrator version of a Namiki Yukari Royale with a steel nib. Boy, it's a chonky #fountainpen but a really nice writer if you have big hands.

Discovery for today: parallel pen nib units fit in moonman #6 pens. You can't fit it with a pilot nor a Moonman nib when you do it, but Moonman/MaJohn offers plenty of body fill (eyedropper) and piston pen models, and parallel nibs do lay a lot of ink. Calligraphers, rejoice!

#Writing_Instruments Now with a correctly spelled tag!

Some pens are made with vegetal resin rather than Epoxy based. it's environment friendly and maybe even cheaper, but it smells like ugh.... an open sewer? It can be horrible. This one was taken apart and kept in sodium bicarbonate for a month, and it still stinks. next steps are letting it sit in sunlight (UV might help) and finally coffee.
