I almost skipped this because I don't write romance, but one of the best pieces of writing advice I ever got was, *It's always a love story.*

So how am I going to show the reader my protagonist and her love interest are in love? She asks to borrow his bullet-proof vest right now, no questions asked. And he hands it over *before* demanding to know what the hell is going on.

That's love in my book.

Today I comforted someone who has concerns about blogging. But writing and publishing---on a blog or other public formats---does involve risk. I think now more than ever because truth told slant speaks. Original writing doesn't bow to norms, orthodoxy, the machine. A recent warning to Florida writers was from a governor who threatened bloggers criticizing the FL state government. My fiction re: would-be dictators.

When I'm producing tiny fictions, I like to compose in Word to check my word count. If I'm out of inspiration, I mine old stories to create a fresher, tinier angle with the prompt word. Then I post in #50WordFriday and similar hashtags. After some time goes by, I pull out the strongest ones and at them to WordPress as drafts, scheduling a blog publication for a point in the future. This is how it's working rn. What I like about this is that it gives multiple chances to revise. #WritingCraft

These are words that cue readers into what kind of story and tone you are going to offer in the following pages.
