It's hard to be vulnerable in a writing critique group, but I have some quality people in my MFA cohort, so things went pretty well today. I'm also amazed at the progress I've made from November until now, having titrated down a bit on my stabilizer. I was almost dropping out of situations like that because I wasn't thinking clearly, but I'm almost my old self again.

The nice thing about being an is that you don't have to worry about what publishers think will sell

For example, I write smut-free Fantasy , which no mainstream publisher is going to touch, no matter how good the is, but by self-publishing, I can get my work out there. There are more headaches, of course, but in the end, I expect publishing my to be worth it.

Also, having a great group is a huge help in keeping the quality solid.

I've just started dabbling in writing fiction. Are there any other aspiring authors on here? For me it would be good to compare notes and perhaps critiques.

I'm also interested in 'joining' any online writing group - any recommendations?

If anyone's up for this you know where to find me 🙂
