Added 1350-ish new words to finish the "Disaster at Sea" chapter. It topped out at just over 2100 words which is too long for a middle grade book, but I'll deal with that when the draft is done. Moving on to the "now what?" chapter.

On a side note, a lot of my progress on RPG projects has been bogged down by trying to create a relex of Latin.

You know how some books use Dog Latin for spells? I want something that sounds like Latin, but is not based on real latin words. For example, hudō praenum for 'I hurl fire'.

But I am giving up that relex just so I can actually write.

Today's snippet of writing comes from old stories I have found while enjoying my two week staycation. This particular story cycle features theme of memory, mundanity, and the quiet little fantasies that allow momentary escape from doing the same job for decades.

I have started a game of Fortuna Mythica and I plan to post that soon.

Day 1 of extended time off and I am working through what thing to write first.

This is harder than I thought.

On the positive side, I got more sleep last night than I have in months, maybe years.

From 3 Chinnaka I comes the story of Rosie the Quarterback, the only woman inducted into the North American Footbal League Hall of Fame in Rock Island Illinois

From 2 Lotus XVII comes the story of Lotus the Traveler, arguably the most prolific explorer known.

From 3 Ommtala IV, a memory of an NPC in my kids' campaign.

More to come as I work on migrating from Wordpress to Github Pages.

Made it to my monthly paycheck today. Woot! Thanks to my wife, we pulled all kinds of shenanigans to get here.

I plan to do a lot of writing and gaming during my upcoming two week vacation. Woot!

There will be a Dice Throne campaign and a Cypher System campaign. I also hope to get a chunk of the Rogue from Nowhere written.

I wrote over 4k words in about a week for a short story that hasn't even been living in my head for as long as the novel I'm working on. But I wanted to finish it in time to offer as a reader magnet, so...maybe I just need deadlines to encourage me to draft my novel faster?

This weekend's goals are to finish the alt-1940s-RubeGoldeberg-ElderGod setting and to make progress for my alternate universe football.

Easter egg: there is an Elf from my old 5e universe that plays for 1923 Rock Island Independents. He is the reason they are the only pass heavy team in the league.

Magic and Feywild are cut-off from him, but he did find a way out in 1978.

Pella's Column has a four team football league, but their game is more like Pitz then NFL.

Counting books that are on my awaiting release/writing/to-write list, I now have 25/26 on my "title for every letter of the alphabet" goal.

X is going to suck. I've tried very hard not to name a book specifically to fill any slots, but there's no way I'll achieve X without doing it intentionally. Which sucks. But so does leaving it incomplete.

But still! 25/26 is pretty damn impressive by itself. 😄
