@floofpaldi I think over in last month we established that most of our main characters have no idea how to flirt. So, the concept of a pickup line is entirely beyond these poor souls.

I think I have one main character (one of the main characters in my short story series) who might use a pickup line because he can turn on the charm like no-one's business, but he only does it to be cheeky or to get some information when he really needs to.

11.09.2023 11/9 What would you do if you met your antagonist?

Talk with them. In my story I wrote about here (with the 3 # below), I see it more like a self insert into my story from which I could go anywhere. Basically become Q/God, or an apple. However if they would start threatening me I would go full not nice Loki on them. Rewriting them fully aware of it "How about having a tentacle instead of an eye?"

: What do you hate most about the author?

Rana: I’ve never hated anything about anyone, though Commander Savas has gotten me pretty angry at times. Quite the opposite with Branwen. I appreciate how hard she works to get each line as accurate as possible, even when she doesn’t agree with what we’re doing.

:maple: Day 7 :maple:

Why did your villain become a villain?

Some people are born bad. Some have a black heart. Greg fits the bill. Do I like writing him to be horrible? Hell yes, I do!

Poor people probably didn't get a lot of stories published. That's why they don't start: "I was sentenced to three months in the insane asylum for being poor." 🤔

3.9. - MC POV: You realize that you are a book character. What do you do?

Torin: "Haha, I can make fun of myself. How do you want to prove that? Look, I'm alive, I can see, smell and taste. I feel the connection to the elements and their power. When I pinch myself, it hurts."

He shakes his head. "You'll probably end up telling me that the author of the book lives in a world where there are no dragons. That would be completely absurd."

Has your MC or Antagonist approved of what the other has done?

I started laughing. A strange, powerful euphoria overwhelmed me. It was frightening. Pieces of my life that didn’t quite fit for months now simply magically snapped into place.

Someone just told me about a mass murder, and I started laughing. Was I a monster? I tried, but I couldn’t stop laughing. I was also trembling.

Have you ever planned to kill a character and not done it?

"Do you think they’ll believe you, or will they conclude that you made up a story where you save the day at the end because you feel guilty.”

“They can believe whatever they want.”

Does your antagonist believe your hero has a chance of succeeding?

"I want it to be him. First, he’ll cut my throat and blood will spurt out of my neck with each heartbeat. Then he’ll shove his sword under my ribcage, deep into my body and I’ll fall to the ground. The last thing I’ll see is him spitting in my face and the sin within me, purified by my suffering will be taken by the earth.”

Who is the first character you created for this work?

For Bad Memory - it was Nik, but Nik and Jaimes appeared at about the same time.

For The Epic Threesome - it was Orchid, I think? Definitely Orchid. The concept of his character drove the whole thing.

If you've been reading my Writing Wonders stuff - you'll notice that I'm drawing from my novel as well as my WIP - definitely VERY different stories - different genres.

Antagonist POV: What do you like the least about the place you live?

“Please, before I go, tell me you’re okay,” he pleaded with me. “I hear stories. Why are you even here? Couldn’t your mother get you a place in a prison hospital or…something? Are you being hurt? Nobody deserves that.”

“Ask them. Ask them and they'll put us in a room together.”

“I said, no.”

31 August: “Has your MC or antagonist ever approved of something the others’ done?”

Hrul would let Yl run ahead and learn a place, love a place so in his arrival by strength and cunning he could take it from her.

He quite approved everything she did; it made his victory sweeter.

But at last her strength and cunning out-matched his.

01.09.2023 31: “Has your MC or antagonist ever approved of something the others’ done?”

From a strategic or tactical point of view they surely would. I think both are good trained soldiers with leadership skills and survived many battles. Goal wise probably. On a personal level absolutely not. It's like the Kirk Mirrorkirk thing with both about there methods.
Kira does things for the Union and their principles where AJ trys to change something from the shadows.

The very final day! Day 31 of , thanks once again to
@BranwenOShea, @AmeliaKayne and @AlinaLeonova. This has been enormously helpful in clarifying my thoughts on various aspects of the story, including some I had not thought about that turned out to be extremely important.
