"WRVR, New York’s only all jazz station was honored earlier this month by George Wein and the Newport Jazz Festival for its contribution to the exposure of jazz. WRVR’s other activities feature live concerts weekly that are broadcast from various locations throughout the city."
Anyone here have any memories or experiences of **WRVR in NY **when it was a jazz only radio station, I'd love to hear from you.
I've written twice briefly it about recently for ctproduced and plan to research and write about WRVR, seems a sad but fascinating story and ending.
Especially interested in anyone knows about former NY station manager **Robert Orenbach** from a quick look, Orenbach & wife look to have been bankrupted by Bernie Madoff in his crimes

One more thing to share this morning: this year I curated a digital exhibit for American Archive of Public Broadcasting about the 10-yr radio station of Riverside Church NYC. A decade of high-def recordings are available: public affairs, jazz, sermons, civil rights news coverage, & much more. Very fun project to work on!
