In all these reports on the BBC they keep giving a £3500 figure for the average UK Scouts cost of going to this World Scout Jamboree. In our local newspapers the Explorer Scouts from our East region give a figure of £4000.

People’s safety and wellbeing is paramount, it’s such a shame this was necessary.

Relocating 4,500 people has cost the Scout Association well over £1m which has come from its reserves, the chief executive said.
"We had commitments to those reserves that will of course mean that we can't now do things that we wanted to do over the next three to five years," he said.

I’ve said it before that I think Scouts UK should have an official account in the Fediverse and maybe an instance solely for their all their Groups, Districts, etc.

One account would be nice to start with, to replicate their main social media account on other platforms, to post things like this update from the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea and embed the video.
