@elCelio I suppose I take a more pessimistic view because most Europeans don't even know how the EU works, what EU institutions do (most know 2 out of 3 but #WTFistheCouncil ) or who runs the EU (their national governments). I was in the same boat not long ago. It wasn't hard to learn, but absent strong incentives and/or leadership from public figures, most normies go about their lives and don't think about the structures that make even their Freedom of Movement in the EU possible.

I can feel that today's going to be a bumper crop day for #WTFistheCouncil thanks to the #EU Commission silky smooth rail post. So far I count:

* order a national government to build high speed rail
* tax kerosene
