La foto purtroppo non rende le dimensioni del suino. Questo dipinto si trova nel castello di Ambras, a Innsbruck, nella wunderkammer creata dall'Arciduca Ferdinando II. Insieme alla collezione di armi e armature, viene considerata il primo museo moderno. Inoltre è l'unica conservata ancora nel luogo originale. Le dimensioni del suino erano tali da farlo considerare una meraviglia della natura, pertanto venne ritratto in scala 1:1 e incluso nella collezione di meraviglie. #Wunderkammer #CheMaiale

Danach waren wir eigentlich erledigt, aber ein bisschen habe ich mich noch umgeschaut.

Das Musée #Unterlinden ist sonst so ein #Wunderkammer-Museum mit allerhand von #Archäologie, einem #Weinkeller, Kunst vom 19. Jahrhundert bis Moderne, sogar #Picasso. Der Kern ist aber die Sammlung spätmittelalterlicher sakraler Kunst, vor allem des Lokalhelden Martin #Schongauer - hier bei Mirabilia durch Schuhwerk vertreten:

#RamseyNasr heeft het in z'n #Wunderkammer over - onbedoeld - bizar racistisch taalgebruik in boeken voor kinderen. Een paar jaar geleden kocht ik een boek met Godfried Bomans' Pa Pinkelman en Tante Pollewop. Verhalen die rond 1950 geschreven zijn en jawel, doodleuk teksten over 'een nikkertje'. Best schokkend dat dat eigenlijk zo kort geleden nog volkomen geaccepteerd was.

The power is out, knocked out by high winds for the second time in a week. 9 hours and counting this time... Zorya Utrennyaya is either standing guard or watching me suspiciously. Likely a bit of both. And I'm currently under blankets reading #ThePaleBlueEye by candlelight.

That arctic wind succeeded in knocking out the power about 8 hours ago. Current ETA for restoration is 12pm tomorrow, but now the snow and ice have moved in, so we shall see...

Thank goodness for warm candle light, thick blankets, softly snoring kitties, instant noodles, and a little champ of a generator keeping my snakes and spiders warm. Here's hoping the power is restored before the fuel runs out.

Wherever you are, I hope you're warm and safe too. 🖤
