Watching some #WWDC videos and it strikes me as developing apps for Apple's platforms just gets more and more complex, and honestly I grew tired of keeping up with the constant changes to Swift especially.
I'll definitely go back to developing an iOS app at some point but right now it feels like a good vacation to be doing something else this entire year so far.
Only problem of doing SvelteKit and Django in my day job: now my side project (using the same stack) feels like normal work 😅
Why am I just now discovering the Updates section of the Apple Developer documentation site? Besides all the release notes, it has lists with brief descriptions of all things new grouped by #WWDC year or tech area such as #SwiftUI, #Xcode, etc. It’s so much easier to parse than the release notes and not tied to any specific platform either. I just discovered a ton of new SwiftUI features that I didn't hear mentioned in the WWDC videos or even the dev blogs so far! https://developer.apple.com/documentation/updates
More thoughts on this: #Apple will use their internal development towards #LLM’s and #AppleGPT will funnel into future OS updates and apps. In fact, it probably already has, to some degree. While not a lot of this years #WWDC included the words “#AI” there were signs of its use in nearly every product category. This will all stay separate from their use of an internal #ChatGPT-like product for employee use. @9to5Mac has a good writeup on this as well:

Hm. The new inspector in SwiftUI works weird on the iPad mini. Wonder if it’s me. It looks ok on a normal iPad.
SwiftData and MapKit for SwiftUI for iOS 17 (beta) could not have come at a better time! Working on a new idea for an app and these new features make development way easier.
That said… using new stuff as a newbie is tricky. There’s basically zero tutorials out there. While Apple's session videos are great, they often lack source code and skip "obvious” stuff in slides (which are not obvious to me). #ios #swiftui #wwdc2023 #wwdc #apple

Getting ready for second day of Tour de France.
June and July are good months in the year. #WWDC in June and #TourDeFrance in July. If the weather was more mild and not above 24 degrees celsius, they would have been the best months of the year. Maybe I should move to a place with mild weather in June and July…
Am I correct in saying that Content Filter Provider Network Extension has dropped the limitation of supervised/managed devices only on iOS? And now supports it on iOS?
