Basically everything Jesus said about "helping the poor" was metaphorical. He didn't actually mean you should "give everything" to them...

Remember, there will always be poor people. And great is their reward in heaven, so if you think about it, it's really a disservice to the poor to lift them out of poverty. 🤷🏼‍♂️
