Possibly useful for other people:
I recently got a big lot of cheap #Dell #Wyse 3030 thin clients and decided to try installing #slackware on them. The install would seemingly go fine, but every time it went to boot it claimed not to see /dev/sda2 - regardless of whether it was set up with UEFI or legacy bios.

Something in the bios initializes the built-in SATA slowly, so if you change the elilo.conf for UEFI booting to include "rootdelay=10" in the kernel params it boots fine.

Using a refurbished #ThinClient such as HP #T630 or Dell #Wyse for running #HomeAssistant and similar applications instead of using an SBC such as #RaspberryPi.

After last week's latest shenanigans with the #Synology #NAS, I decided to set up Dell #Wyse #ThinClient I had originally picked up for another idea that ended up falling through, and have set it up to run some of the containers I rely on. Some are still running on the Synology, for now.

I'm running #Fedora Server edition on this, and took this opportunity to give #Podman a real try, too, so the containers I'm running on here are all running using Podman. Pretty neat.

Hi #hivemind, has anyone got the #Wyse WY-120 #serial #terminal to work correctly on #Linux with any #terminfo entries? Specifically, it has trouble with backspace/delete, arrow keys and general #curses page layout. #Halp?

PS: I've seen @veronicaexplains's wonderful video on the WY-55 but this one unforunately seems to have different behaviour.

Falls mal jemand in die spezielle Situation kommt einen #dell #wyse 3040 zu haben mit einem unbekannten BIOS Passwort:

Den PWRCLR Button gedrückt halten und dann den Thin Client einschalten. Dann kommt eine Meldung auf dem Monitor das alles zurückgesetzt wurde.
