Can I manually set it to trigger only if an actual person is detected? Yes, with a subscription. Though I still don’t know if it can tell the difference between a person and something person-shaped.

The other problem is that it’s catching light from a window and thinks it’s not dark so it won’t activate even though it is in fact dark. This at least I can get around with manual rules (just trigger when motion detected). #Wyze

If you ever replace an iPhone and use a Wyze scale: on restoring from a backup it turns off integration with Apple Health and your data is no longer automatically transferred.

You need to tap into the scale and then the settings gear icon to re-enable it.

For plug-in switches, I'm using #SwitchBot minis, #Wyze outdoor, and Securifi Peanuts (those are #zwave and have a bug that makes initial setup annoying, but they are super reliable after.) In-wall outlets/switches are all #zwave, mostly GE/Enbrighten.

#HomeAssistant can also operate #Hue gear directly (via #zigbee) and I think they have some switching outlets.

@chris haha thanks! It’s more so finding the time to do it! I am pretty sure #Wyze has an API (If I remember correctly with out Googling it right now) so if anything I could end up making a simple bash script that pulls the data as I did with my @weather station and having it run via a cronjob on my server…

I moved the dining room camera off the table and forgot to put it back, so I can't check in on the #shark... but I have my #Wyze car out, so I drove into the room and can see his fuzzy feets and #beans hanging out of the shark's maw. #CatsOfMastodon

In the last couple of days, the #Bluebirds have been back to check out the nestbox. I have taken out the "winter padding" of pine needles the other day and just left a tiny layer along with some dried wood crumbs. I do think nesting season has still some time to go, we are expecing colder temps again, but it was so lovely to see them do their thing. Last year, she started building on March 1.

Just picked up the new #Wyze Cam OG and really hate that they want $19/yr/camera for their service. eg: after it autodetects movement, it pauses for 5 minutes before tracking again. Going to hold onto it and hope some hackers make some useful firmware for it.

Wasn’t able to access my #wyze account, looks like 2fa was enabled (I don’t ever recall settings this up, yes I know I should have and that’s a story for another time). Reached out to their support to get this resolved, best course of action was to delete my account so I could make a new one. Sadly it takes 3-5 business days for them to remove an account from their system, patiently waiting to make an account so I can sync my scale lol.

Anyone know how to convince #wyze #cameras that they are online during setup without giving full internet access? I don't want to enable internet for the #IoT network every time I change configurations. (Using the #RTSP firmware, so 100% local is possible without the various cloud features.)

I could dive into setting up a #MitM network and so forth but not today.
