@codemonkeymike @PINE64 it is unfortunately a tad slow, which is why I absolutely had to use a WM like #sway to have a low memory footprint. It's also handy using a utility like cpu-power to force the clock speed to run higher 👍

So I've continued poking around at my #bambulab #X1Carbon. I've got a support ticket open on the warped bed and the are sending me a new one, eventually --> "This might take 4 weeks since we have added new quality control to make sure you won't get a replacement bed with the same issue as the original."

In the mean time, I've been looking at the printer more. And what's this????

So it turns out the #BambuLabs #X1C ships with a .4mm nozzle, not a .2mm. That means if you use the .2mm nozzle you should expect a lot of failed prints. #3DPrinting #X1Carbon

It was a fun #3dprinting challenge I have discovered. This model is #3D chainmaik made by #NASA. It can take quite long to print, but the final product is amazing, and it is a great tolerance test. I wonder who can print it better? #P1P #x1carbon #creality or #prusa

Uh oh! Houston, we have a problem. The X1C has a massively warped bed, in both X and Y directions. X is ~0.75mm and Y is ~0.43mm on the Y axis. Support ticket open, though based on existing threads, my hopes are not high.😞 #3dprinting #bambulab #X1Carbon

so far #debian 12 #bookworm on my #thinkpad #x1carbon (gen 8) is totally awesome.. ..on cold boot it only uses about 320MB of RAM and it gets about an extra hour of battery life compared to #fedora 37

New setup: my #Dareu #mechanicalkeyboard (cherry browns) overlaid on top of my #X1Carbon #thinkpad (gen 7). Works pretty well.

I'm in the market for a new #laptop. Been eyeing the #x1carbon from Lenovo.

I'm after something portable, usb-C for charging and display output, and will support FreeBSD.

I've looked at the dell XPS range. I'm worried that if I go for 32GB RAM and a 12 gen intel CPU, that the thing could throttle.

Thoughts welcomed and appreciated!
