Bislang habe ich da nur kurz reingeschnuppert, da ich mit #EVEonline und #EliteDangerous schon zwei Weltraumspiele habe, die regelmäßig zocke.

No X fans?... On mastodon? But you guys love space so much. #spacetrucking finance simulators. Think #Eve offline.

The meta game for mods and the most fun is X3 Albion Pelude. X4 is great too just make sure you've got a decent system. It literally simulates every ship in its universe. X3 simulates resources and the market on every station and simply spawns in ships when needed for the AI to trade. Still, playing it, you can't tell unless you intend to follow any one Freightor around for three hours that isn't connected to a mission.

X4's Kingdom End expansion is still amazing. Having helped reconnect the Boron to the rest of "The Network" I was later rewarded me this *lovely* Corvette-class beauty, the "Hydra Royal", which I have re-named "Fugu: Tasty Fish".

Below you can see a selection of screenshots from the game showing off those gorgeous curvaceous Boron designs. This update's new Rendering Tech, featuring new lighting and Physics, makes the shiny *even shinier*.

#X4 has a green tick for #SteamDeck but the menu is incompatible with the gamepad and I have yet to test in-game... Seems that I will stick to PC with this game 😭

Started playing X4 Foundations on the PC earlier today.

It's a game I've had in my back catalogue a while, but hadn't got around to.

Man alive it's buggy af. Crashes once every 30 minutes on average, but it plays really well.

Fell into #X4 really hard for the past day, spent an embarrassing amount of time playing in the space sandbox. It's the first piece of media that I've engaged with meaningfully in a while that did not end in "there's a #ttrpg in here somewhere."

I don't think the spreadsheet, micromanagement, and repetitive incremental drudgery would make for big social or even solo fun on a tabletop. And that's cool!

Means I'm actually taking time off.

Operation #X4 is proving less than successful so far, if only because of some annoying mod errors I'm trying to troubleshoot. I hope to resolve those sometime soon and get back to my giant space sandbox, or what I can enjoy of it anyway. I wish something had come of my efforts to play #EveOnline, but it was always kind of tricky and I lost motivation.
