@AshBeardguy It could be as a result of the decade you're born in. If you're early 80s, you probably have more in common with Gen X and #Xennials than younger Millennials and Gen Z. There is a cultural shift in this time.

I tend to think generational "science" is by and large bunk, but if we're going to have it, let's be clear: there's no such thing as Xennials. If you think you're a Xennial, that's a clear sign that you belong with Generation X, because feeling alienated from both sides of a split is one of our core values.

@SunshineGoddess I have some sympathy for people trying to figure out #Mastodon who aren't also #GenX or #Xennials. This platform has the same energy as IRC and IM and forums did back in the 90s and early aughts. That's our digital home country, and I'm not surprised that people outside that demographic are a little weirded out. Also, there are plenty of issues around accessibility and DEI that Mastodon hasn't grappled with yet.

Let me make it clear for 2023, we will not answer your phone call if we don’t recognize the number. So just stop it. Text who you are so we can block you and be done with it. 😜
