@jerry I'm looking at tires, what do you think of my list so far? Any opinions or recs?

Anyone is welcome to pile in on this! For those not in the know, I'm putting 35s on an xj that's more trail rig than not. I'd like the tires to be good in snow. I'm located in the PNW

Milestar Patagonia MT or XT
Yokohama Geolandar MT G003
Goodyear MT/R Kevlars (this is the tire I want so bad but it's discontinued, supposedly)
Toyo Open Country MT or AT

This maybe should have been a poll lol.

New shoes and axle update!
* Axle castor is now correct for my lift. Should dramatically improve how it drives on the highway.
* New 37s and bead grip wheels.

To solve the bump stop problem, I wanted to do something different. I bought a Harbor Freight lathe and made an aluminum puck that allows me to recess the bolt on the axle side so that the rubber pucks contact a smooth aluminum surface. I haven't got it installed, but these photos will at least show you what I'm up to...

Axle update. Real axle is assembled and installed. First 10-mile break-in drive is done. Its silent. I’m soooo happy right now!
