This year's Royal Institution #xmaslectures are really interesting. Definitely worth watching!

Lots of cool stuff on episode 1 of #XmasLectures, but disappointed that sexing skeletons was presented as 100% accurate. FYI, just one example: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15567621/

Emma Mawdsley who is the Keeper of Tower Armouries of course brought an axe to a Ri Lecture! ☺️ #XmasLectures

However "vikings" never actually existed really. There were northern people's but vikings wasn't the name of the people. #XmasLectures

It's really amazing that isotopes show so much detail about where a person has been! #XmasLectures

I wonder if we're going to talk about trans and non-binary people when we're using physical characteristics of skeletons to assign a gender. #XmasLectures
