Is there any way to have "natural scrolling" in #Gnome actually working? There is a setting under "mouse and touchpad", which works for some apps, but not others (e.g. Chrome but not Firefox).
I can also switch the scroll direction using #xmodmap. This works for all the *other* apps.
You'd think if I enabled both settings, then some apps would be covered by the Gnome setting, and the rest by xmodmap. But what actually happens is Gnome overrides xmodmap and switches it back :blobfoxangrylaugh:

Got angry at #xmodmap which broke during a recent #opensuse upgrade. Replaced it with #keyd, which has been much more stable.

Considered #kmonad, which has an attractive s-exp based config language, but the toolchain wouldn't compile properly.

@freezr @bill
yes.
Or… fill your personal .Xmodmap with:
keycode 115 = Multi_key
And add on your .xsession file:
xmodmap $HOME/.Xmodmap
Restart your session and use your compose key and letters…

Or, if you use Gnome/KDE/Xfce, go to the Settings > Keyboard > and modify the Touch Compose. ;)
@legoktm@mastodon.technology Nice! I'm procrastinating until I research how to replace #Xmodmap in #Wayland. https://unix.stackexchange.com/q/292868
Is anyone experienced with #keyboards and #xmodmap ? after typing xmodmap -e "keycode 94 = less greater less greater bar " I still get a onehalf character instead of the bar (|) ... no idea what's going on ...
