I had an Innovation Day with several colleagues from #Xpirit who were in Seattle for the Microsoft MVP Summit. It was good to meet a number of folks from the Netherlands who I've only known from video calls.

Our group worked together to build a starter Microsoft #Orleans project, which is programming with #Agents. Almost all of it was new technology for me so I got to learn a lot.

Someone showed me that we have a yaml pipeline definition in our Jobs postings (see here: https://xpirit.com/team/to-be-announced-9/)?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon and I just had to make sure this example works! So.... there now is an "Do Epic Shit" action in the GitHub Actions marketplace!

#Xpirit USA is remote-first, and it takes real planning and effort on the part of an org to make that work well.

Building and maintaining a good culture, supporting people and providing a good experience, sharing knowledge and expertise between everyone in the org - these things all require focus, planning, continual effort, and good tools.

@pkellner @david We're setting this up as a potential #xpirit official instance for employees, though we don't yet know if we really want to admin/moderate an instance long-term.

So a POC right now.

But yes, if it works well and is realistic, we'll probably use it.

And yes, @carlfranklin , if we get this working I'll blog about it.

Experimenting with setting up a Mastodon server in #azure using #bicep, #postgresql as a service, and (maybe) blob storage with an S3 API (??).

Lots of fun learning so far, but nothing actually running 🙂
