Btw az megvan, hogy angolul Violet Carpenter Bee? Tekintsünk el attól, hogy a magyar dongó menőbb szó, de igazán nyúlhatnánk, hogy ASZTALOS! Nem ám fadongó, nem! Szakmája van és úgy hiszem ez elég menő.

Our largest , the Eastern carpenter ( verginica ssp. virginica) is well-known to those in proximity to outdoor wooden structures. Females carve out long tunnels underneath protected wood, e.g. porch rails, eaves.

Males emerge first in Spring. Territorial, they will fly right at you! Harmless to us.
