I'm back at my #ArchLinux #KDEPlasma tower now [which system remains, frankly, superb], but for several hours earlier i was using my #Fedora 38 #KDEPlasma lappy. After finishing all my usual browsing & such on it, i did the 200+ pkg update backlog i've been ignoring for a few days. Watching all the pkgs downloading via #DNF in #Yakuake, i shook my head in admiration... #KFedora continues to keep up really well with Arch, not only with the #Plasma desktop itself, but also #Gear & #Frameworks. 💜

It. Did. Not. Used. To. Be. This. Good, some years ago, so, since at least early this year, otherwise maybe late last year, something wunnerful happened wrt active support of KDE by Fedora. Nowadays it is, to be blunt, bloody excellent... kudos & thanks! 🎉

#Arch remains the holder of my heart, but if it went away tomorrow, i'd replace it with KFedora .

IMO, anyone who somehow dislikes #RollingRelease #distros, but loves KDEPlasma, who atm inclines to #openSUSE #Leap KDE, or KDE in some #Debian / #Ubuntu thing [ergo you get stuck with obsolete versions], really should seriously consider KFedora.

@ablackcatstail In #KDEPlasma there's #Yakuake & #Konsole. Or am i missing your point?

I continue:
- to occasionally muck about with my #Fedora #Kinoite & #oS #MicroOS VMs.
- my scepticism that immutables have any credible use FOR ME.
- to find more Cons than Pros. Here's another i just rediscovered today.

In ALL my "std" #KDEPlasma systems [multiple distros, both my PCs, multiple VMs] one of my most-used apps is #Yakuake, [dropdown terminal]. I want this also in my immutables.

K & M don't have it ootb. It's not in [real] #Flathub. HOW do i install it, yet stay "immutable"?

Pra mim, que uso o #terminal apenas eventualmente e para coisas rápidas, sem necessidade de ter ele ali constantemente pra consultas etc, o #yakuake é uma ótima opção.
Coloco na inicialização do sistema, tecla de atalho deixo o F4 (mesmo que o MX Linux usa por padrão) e faço o que preciso além de me agradar visualmente...

Yes, I know I'm actually tooting from toot now.

Because it's WAY easier to hit F12 to activate #Yakuake, type "tootme" (my 'toot' front-end shell script), hit 'i', mash out some text, <esc>:wq and have a happy life than faffing about with a rodent. :P ;)

I just found best usage of #yakuake drop-down terminal, its relly god for playing music with mpv.

Uma coisa que eu amo no MX Linux e agora "arrasto" pra maioria das distros que uso, é esse terminal #yakuake que desce pelo atalho do teclado. Eu geralmente colocava atalho para abrir o terminal, mas o fato dele ocultar ao perder o foco, pro meu uso que geralmente é com comandos que estou lendo em algum lugar (tutoriais e manuais) ajuda muito.
