Incredibly contentious shoot that was so stressful for director Schrader that he ended up quitting the biz for awhile afterwards. The auto plant scenes were shot at the Checker Cab plant in Kalamazoo, MI.

His career spanned five decades and he was often cast as authority figures, with a sideline in flamboyant villainy. Memorable credits included Larry Cohen's #Bone (1972), #LiveandLetDie (1973), #TruckTurner (1974), Paul Schrader's #BlueCollar (1978) and as the ill-fated Parker in #Alien (1979).
