The neighbor who lives two houses down and the neighbor across the street decided it was time to mow their yards, so I decided it was time for me to go ahead and mow all four yards as well since they were doing theirs.

It's always nice seeing several yards together that are mowed and looking nice. So all 5 yards on my side of the street were mowed today, as I mowed 3 of them, plus I mowed the yard of the neighbor behind me.

It was hot, very hot, but it's done!

The hatred I have for weedwacker trim is immeasurable. So frustrating trying to redpoll this craftsman. #yardwork 🤬

Next door neighbor was out back in the shed and I asked him what he was about to do. He said he was going to do the weed eating, so I told him I'd mow since I needed to mow all four yards any way. Especially ours since I have family coming over for July 4th.

Wife helped and it only took us just over an hour or so to do all 4 yards, weed eat, trimming and blowing everything off.

How to procrastinate in the morning and get your active minutes for the day : mow about 3/4 of the yard, that after no mow May (and part of June) had above the knee grass.

Doing it in the morning because it's cooler, and that area is in the shadow. The other 1/4 will wait to the evening when it's in the shadow.

After much effort I have installed a new wheel on my mower. I screwed a metal plate to cover the rust hole (and I didn't know metal drill bits were a thing so it took forever to make the holes with normal drill bits), realized the wheel I bought didn't come with wheel bearings, then bought another wheel which I had to space out so it wouldn't make contact with the mower body.

I'm exhausted and I still have to go mow the lawn to test it out.

I bought brand new Black and Decker electric hedge clippers 40 years ago for maybe $15? And I just used them to trim some serious shrubbery near my front entrance. Not kidding they are still as excellent as they were when I bought them. #Hedge #YardWork #Garden

Spring has brought lots and lots of yard work at the new house. We have affectionately coined row of red hot poker plants in our yard "Vecna" and are working to irradiate it. Lots of weed-whacking today. and mowing tomorrow followed by more pruning and weeding. #spring #yardwork #island #home
