This is how I put a rotation counter on my yarn swift. You can get these for about $13US. It consists of a small magnet, a wand that can detect the magnet, and the little digital screen which runs on one AA battery. The magnet is tucked into the underside of the part that rotates, and the wand is attached to the stationary nut with a strip of velcro. The counter remembers the last count even after you turn it off. #fiberart #yarn #spinning

I pre-soaked the yarn with 70% isopropyl alcohol (not sopping but soaked)
I’ve added my #Pokeweed dye (3:1 berry juice to 70%)
It’s been soaking 24 hours ….is that long enough?

A friend of mine gave me a large garbage bag full of #yarn and notions this past weekend.

Their mom, a knitter, had recently passed away. They were at a loss for what to do, and I, resident yarn hoarder and knitter person, offered to take it all off their hands if they wanted.

I need to find homes for some of this, especially the straight needles (I'm a circular gal).

Diving headfirst into that bag was magical, tho-- I'm working on an unfinished scarf for my friend.

Quite excited for the Rowan AW23 launch tonight with WoolWarehouse - I'm at the end of my current WIP and have been waiting to decide my next until I see their new patterns and yarns.

If anybody hasn't been before, they basically go through the autumn/winter patterns and do a bit of chat about the designs, collections, yarns etc. I always think it lasts slightly too long, but is fun nonetheless 😅

I stacked all my sock #yarn skeins in one place today to see what I have and decide which one I‘ll use next and in that process I found out that I seem to have liked one so much that I bought two of it in different occasions and I just realized that today. Oops. 😂

Using yarn with DevOps pipelines tasks ended up being a wasted effort with version mismatches and caching issues. Reverted back to npm and everything works like a charm. #yarn #npm #devops

Trying something new. A cowl with moebius knitting. Quite fiddly to start with but it's not bad when it gets going 😉
