MOYIRAN: Old man/Grandfather

One of the biggest regrets in my life was not getting to know my MOYIRAN, A Gong as I called him in Teochew, a lot more while he was still alive. Now all I have left are his photos, his books and his writings. I guess that will have to be enough.

Ngany dwert koorang (I wash the dog)

I took the dwert 🐺 for a KOORANG today. He was starting to get real stanky. I am surprised by how well behaved when I was washing him. He stayed fairly still and only shook off water twice! 😂😛

DJILYARA always bring a smile to my face when I see them. When I get my money right, I want to get a "hotel" in my garden for native DJILYARA, some of which are a gorgeous vibrant blue, to help boost their populations which are unfortunately on the decline.

DAAP: Knife

Alidja yoowart DAAP, Nidja DAAP! (That's not a knife, this is a knife!) 😂 My favourite DAAP to use for food prep purpose (what else? 😉) is my Asian style cleaver. I actually don't recall the last time I used the paring knife beyond work with fruit.
