Hey #yeg #Edmonton folks, I've been feeling like I am hearing sirens every 10 minutes. Especially when I go to bed, I notice that there's multiple sirens, honking, etc etc., all. The. Time.

So I did what any data wonk would do to see if confirmation bias or not, and went to https://data.edmonton.ca/browse?tags=police%20statistics.

Except those data sets all seem to be... from 2019. 🤔 Even when sorting by Recently Updated.

Anybody know what's up with that? Am I looking in the wrong place? Did the funding run out?

The annual Zombie Walk had fewer participants than usual due to a technical snafu in getting the word out. Still, it was fun to take some photos of the undead who showed up. My personal highlight? I recently became a "Local Listener" with Auricle, a partnership between the City of Edmonton and InWithForward, a social design organization in Vancouver.

Our task is to collect stories from transit users to learn how ridership is affecting people's well-being. This involved me getting a bus pass for the first time in years - you can see how excited I was!

We're planning colourful and exciting activations which we tested last week.

Hey so quick question #yeg #Edmonton - there's a street sweeping machine (one of those street zambonis) going around the neighbourhood.

Is it a new thing that the City doesn't put up signs and notices before they come and do the sweeping anymore!? Like... there's cars parked everywhere. Basically that thing can only sweep one side of each block, if that. 🤔

I thought usually they put up notices. Not that people follow the instructions and move their cars anyway, but. Has that changed!?
