The annual Zombie Walk had fewer participants than usual due to a technical snafu in getting the word out. Still, it was fun to take some photos of the undead who showed up. My personal highlight? Zombie Dale the Street Preacher vs. Zombie Nun.

The Feast of St. Alphonsus Liguori is August 1st, and members of the St. Alphonsa Syro-Malabar Catholic Forane Church in the west Edmonton Parkview neighbourhood celebrated on July 30th. The celebrations included a walk around the Parkview school and playground. The drumming could be heard for blocks and there were at least 1,000 participants.

I had to drop by the Muttart Conservatory this week to check out the feature display of LEGO creations from the Northern Alberta LEGO Users Group (NALUG). Many of the plastic brick sculptures depict iconic Edmonton locations - including the Muttart! Definitely worth a visit.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services had to come to the assistance of some high-risk pedestrians near Bonnie Doon Mall this afternoon. Eventually a group of people kept the mom and her chicks surrounded and safe while waiting for Wild North Alberta to arrive to relocate the family.

On May 26, @edmontonyouthforclimate staged a die-in at the Legislature, to call attention for the need for climate change to be an election issue. The die-in portion of the rally lasted for 20 minutes and 35 seconds to represent climate action goals to be implemented by 2035.
