A decidedly unhelpful female #SatinBowerbird obscured by foliage and branches; another #BrownThornbill this time in a Casuarina tree; a #NoisyFriarbird far off in a gum tree an another #YellowFacedHoneyeater this time on a rock above a small pool, about to have a drink.

I went for a walk down the road this morning, and ended up walking about a km down to a local park, and a km back along the creek.

Not a lot of "wow factor" photos, but quite a good selection of birds (some saw me before I saw them, and decided not to have their photo taken)

Stocking up - the video!

Yellow-faced honeyeaters went to town in the fernery today along with several Grey fantails & Eastern spinebills. Collectively they cleaned up on passion vine hoppers & the honeydew these bugs leave on plants.

From here the honeyeaters, like most Victorians, migrate north into Southern Qld for winter & return in early spring. We’ll be waiting.

Gembrook walk!

FINALLY, after several days of rain &/or drizzle the weather improved enough to be able to take a walk along the Puffing Billy rail trail in Gembrook just now. We humans weren’t the only beings happy at the change in weather.
